End of an Era

It is with regret that I must inform past and present customers that after 30 years of trading Priory Services has become a victim of the recession.

As of May 1st 2012 Priory Services ceased to provide its unique Door Trimming service.

August 2008 was the steady decline in turnover with no month exceeding the same month in the previous year. From mid 2011 reduction became more severe. To compound the problem I had to take almost 2 months off work following an operation and recovery period and when returning to work the build up to the usual Christmas rush was non existent.

Usual steps to reduce costs coupled with the introduction of planned price increase were taken to maintain profitability but all was in vein. Another poor trading quarter spread across the flooring industry saw a reduction in carpet and hard flooring sales. In April 2012 I carried out another full review of the business, took advice and had discussions with my family. All agreed that Priory Services, whilst still profitable, could not afford to continue to trade to provide a basic standard of living to me and my family.

On behalf of my late father, John Fisher and myself I would like to thank all our customers for all the work given to us over the last 30 years and graciously thank them for their support over those years, in particular to me during the difficult months following Dads death.

May I offer all my Customers my very best wishes for the future
